Sex traffickers doubling as cabdrivers will face stiff penalties under legislation the City Council is poised to pass today.

The bill would penalize drivers and owners of vehicles licensed by the Taxi and Limousine Commission if they knowingly transport victims of sex trafficking.

Those charged could face $10,000 fines and the loss of licenses for the driver, the vehicles and the dispatcher base stations.
