Disgraced former Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver took what could be his final leisurely stroll — as a free man — on Monday night.
Silver is set to be sentenced in Manhattan federal court Tuesday afternoon, after being found guilty in November of extortion and money laundering.
A grim-faced Silver and his rarely seen wife, Rosa, were spotted out and about, before ducking into their Lower East Side apartment.
Federal prosecutors have asked US District Judge Valerie Caproni to send Silver away for at least 15 years — a term greater than any New York state legislator has ever received — saying his crimes were among the worst ever committed.
