A shoplifter went on a rampage after a cop caught him in the act at a Brooklyn bookstore, punching a van driver, carjacking the vehicle, and leading cops on a wild chase before crashing, authorities said.

Jay Wilkins was finally arrested at First Street and Seventh Avenue in Park Slope at around 5 p.m. The driver of the carjacked van, Valarae Green, was taken to Methodist Hospital.

“My vehicle is a wreck . . . My keys are gone — I’m having flashbacks of what just happened,” he said.
