A pilot’s “ostentatious display” — a high-speed fly-by followed by a steep climb — caused the February 2010 crash of a Cessna 337 that killed five people in New Jersey, two of them children, a federal report charged yesterday.
In the wake of the accident, the FAA issued a safety order directing Cessna owners to inspect wings for damage and to put placards listing operational limits in their cockpits.
