A disabled Staten Island woman was fatally struck by a tractor-trailer yesterday while crossing a busy street.

Therese Alonso, 64, who walked with a cane, was hit as she crossed Richmond Terrace at around 8:50 a.m. The truck slowed down as it approached a red light but accelerated just before it turned green, witnesses said.

Alonso was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was not charged.
