Sicko strangle guilt
A Chinatown man was convicted yesterday of a macabre murder — strangling a young woman who’d spurned his advances, then sleeping for two days with her corpse.
Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Charles Solomon pronounced Michael Lenahan, 31, guilty of murder after a monthlong bench trial.
“Lorna Santiago goes into Michael Lenahan’s home that night looking like this,” lead prosecutor Joan Illuzzi-Orbon said in closings, holding up a photo of the brunette smiling radiantly.
“And she came out looking like that!” the prosecutor added, showing a ghastly photo of Santiago’s decomposed face.
Lenahan, a coke-addled, self-described artist, had claimed he strangled her accidentally, while restraining her during an argument.
