Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver said yesterday the Ku Klux Klan could be allowed into city schools under a bill to open them for religious meetings.

His comment came before the GOP-controlled Senate passed the measure allowing religious groups the use of public-school buildings.

“It would open up the schools to anybody,” said Silver (D-Manhattan). “It might include the Ku Klux Klan.’’

The bill is considered unlikely to pass the Assembly.
