A one-letter difference in the last name of two City Council members led to a mailing mixup that sent 40,000 newsletters intended for northern Brooklyn to upper Manhattan.
The news updates for Stephen Levin’s district, covering Greenpoint and Williamsburg, wound up in the district of his Democratic colleague Mark Levine, which includes the Upper West Side, Harlem and Washington Heights.
A council spokesman said the vendor was responsible for the screw-up and will pay for a new mailing.
