A 6-year-old boy playing with his mother’s gun accidentally shot and killed his 4-year-old brother on Saturday in their East Orange, NJ, home, authorities said.

The child died three hours after being shot in the head at about 11:15 a.m., according to NBC New York.

Their mother, Itiyanah Spruill, was home when the gun went off and has been charged with endangering her children and a weapons violation, authorities said.
