Suffolk County investigators found skeletal remains on Monday beneath the home where a man once suspected in the 1966 disappearance of his girlfriend had lived.
Southold town cops and Suffolk County homicide detectives, guided by sonar, dug under a basement on Lower Road in search of Louise Pietrewicz.
Her married boyfriend at the time — Southold town Police Officer William Boken — lived at the home and died in 1982.
The current homeowner, who has no involvement in the case, consented to the search, police said Monday night.
