ALBANY — The state’s top Republican is leaving the door open for an increase in New York’s minimum wage.

State Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos vowed yesterday that his house won’t take up Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver’s bill to hike the rate next year from $7.25 an hour to $8.50.

But he didn’t rule out a compromise measure before the June 21 end of this election-year legislative session.

“We will not pass the speaker’s bill,” Skelos said when asked if he would block any minimum-wage increase.
