Great weather and clear skies provided a beautiful view of the Big Apple from 9,000 feet up as a fleet of Skytypers left their mark and captured the city sights in photos from their cockpits.

“We like to call ourselves the largest text messagers in the world,” said Larry Arken, president of the SNJ-2 Corp., which flies the aerial letter-writers.

Arken’s team took to the skies last Thursday and snapped breathtaking shots of the city above The Bronx as they typed out their messages.

Each letter is about as high as the Empire State Building — and a 10- to 15-word message (inset) can be about two miles long.
