A beloved Brooklyn baker shot dead near his home was the victim of a recent robbery — and cops are eyeing whether there is any connection between the two incidents, sources said yesterday.
Mervyn Johnson, 68, who operated a cash-only business, regularly headed home with the day’s take from Merv’s Bakery — a routine known to many of his friends and neighbors, police sources said.
On Tuesday, Johnson was steps away from his apartment on Brooklyn Avenue when a gunman pumped one bullet into his left temple at 8:29 p.m. near Lefferts Avenue.
