The emotionally disturbed man fatally shot by a cop in South Ozone Park, Queens, was off his medication, his family members told police.

A neighbor called the police after the crazed man pulled a knife on a family friend inside of the apartment on 144th Terrace. The friend was trying to convince the man to go to the hospital, said NYPD spokesman Paul Browne.

When the officers arrived, the man had the knife pointed at his own neck and then turned the seven-inch blade on the cops, police said.

At one point a sergeant fired a Taser and missed him, Browne said.

The officer repeatedly asked him to drop the knife and eventually fired one round into the man’s shoulder, police said.

He was rushed to Jamaica Hospital, where he died.
