MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — Less than five months before she was shot to death in an off-campus bookstore, a Wesleyan University student, in an e-mail to the man now on trial for killing her, wrote, “Leave me alone!”

Johanna Justin-Jinich also told Stephen Morgan that she was tired of him stalking her and that men like him were the reason women learn self-defense. The e-mail was read in court Friday.
