A small plane crashed into a heavily wooded area in New Jersey on Wednesday afternoon, sparking a large fire, according to reports.
The aircraft plummeted into the woods near West Milford’s Greenwood Lake Airport around 2 p.m. The crash caused a portion of the state parkland to ignite, northjersey.com reported.
Details about the pilot, the plane and any injuries were not immediately available. A helicopter could be seen dumping water over the flames, the report states.
The state Department of Environmental Protection and local police did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
