EAST HADDAM, Conn. — Connecticut state police say four people escaped injury when their small plane stalled while landing at an East Haddam airport and veered off the runway.

Authorities say Monday afternoon’s incident at Goodspeed Airport was minor. The pilot told officials that the single-engine Cessna ended up in a grassy area after landing.

State police say the plane was headed to Goodspeed Airport from Republic Airport in Farmingdale, N.Y., on Long Island.

Troopers say they’ve turned the investigation over to the Federal Aviation Administration.
