Sprint Nextel is set to unveil two new smartphones on the carrier’s 4G LTE network, but the devices will likely reach top speeds in only Kankakee, Ill., a town 60 miles south of Chicago.
Why Sprint chose Kankakee is unclear.
Town officials were were eager to be dialed in. “We’ve actually got quite a bit of people who use smartphones,” said Councilman Steve Linneman
