Smoke conditions in a Port Authority building near the Lincoln Tunnel caused a power outage and the closure of the center tube Monday afternoon, authorities said.

The power to the tube had to be cut just after noon when heavy smoke filled the electrical room of a ventilation tower in a Port Authority building at 463 12th Ave., a PAPD spokesman said.

All center-tube traffic will be re-routed to the eastbound south tube until the situation is resolved.
