A Delta Connection flight headed to Detroit has made a safe emergency landing in Albany last night after the cockpit crew reported smelling an electrical odor.

Albany airport spokesman Doug Myers said Flight 5039 was diverted shortly after leaving Hartford, Conn., with 64 people on board at about 6:30 p.m.

He said the plane operated for Delta by Atlantic Southwest is being checked by technicians after airport emergency crews found no sign of a fire.

It wasn’t immediately clear if it will continue on to Detroit or other arrangements will be made for the passengers.
