CICERO, NY — The driver of a snowmobile modified to race on asphalt died in a high-speed crash at an upstate drag-racing track, authorities said.

Chad Wilcox, 24, was speeding down the ESTA Safety Park Dragstrip here Sunday when he veered into the guard rail, the Onondaga County sheriff’s office said.
