Bedbugs have closed a popular teen clothing store in New York City.
Hollister said its flagship store in Manhattan was closed Wednesday because the bedbugs were “affecting certain isolated areas of the store.”
It said it was taking steps to eradicate the bugs as quickly as possible. The SoHo store hoped to reopen soon.
The city’s Department of Health said bedbugs “do not present a health risk or spread disease.” It said infestations in commercial buildings are handled privately and do not need to be reported to the city.
Hollister is a company of Abercrombie & Fitch.
