The son of the Long Island gas station attendant who was

on Monday is training to become an FDNY firefighter, family members told The Post.

Ceyhun Dagdeviren recently graduated from the department’s EMT program and is in the FDNY academy to become a firefighter, family members and fire sources said.

Ceyhun Dagdeviren could not be reached for comment on Tuesday, but his brother said the man who killed their father is a “monster.”

“He’s out there and he will try to do something else, and we don’t want anyone else to get hurt,” Ali Dagdeviren said at the family’s Levittown home. “There’s kids out there. We just want him caught.”

Their father, 59-year-old Cemal Dagdeviren, was killed on Monday after trying to stop a thief from stealing $22 worth of gasoline from the Pit Stop gas station on Grand Avenue in Hempstead, police said.

He stood in front of the suspect’s car, a dark SUV, in an attempt to stop him from driving off, but was run over and killed, video of the altercation shows.

The suspect was still at large Tuesday. He was last seen driving off in the SUV, which is damaged in the front.

He has shoulder-length dreadlocks and was wearing a bright orange hat during the altercation, police said.
