ROSE, NY — A Brooklyn man accompanying his son to SUNY Buffalo was killed yesterday when the teen veered their vehicle into oncoming traffic and smashed head-on into a pickup truck, authorities said.
The horrific accident occurred in Rose, 37 miles outside Rochester, at about 6:30 a.m., according to Wayne County sheriff’s deputies.
Rufus Famotibe, 52, died instantly; Samuel Famotibe, 19, was hospitalized with a nonlife-threatening leg injury; and two men in the pickup were treated for leg and upper-body injuries, the deputies told The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. The cause of the crash is being investigated.
