City Council Speaker Corey Johnson told Al Sharpton’s National Action Network Saturday that he supports “full legalization” of marijuana and “in the meantime,” sending pot smokers along with a summons and not to Rikers Island.

The Manhattan councilman said a 30-day review of NYPD marijuana-enforcement practices shows “we are already getting results, but we need to make sure that this is handled in a just and fair way.”

Johnson and Sharpton at a City Hall press conference this past week blasted the NYPD and the racial disparities in pot arrests.
