It takes two to e-mail, a foxy former NYU economics professor is arguing, after getting busted for what prosecutors say was more than 1,000 harassing messages to her married Citigroup executive beau.

“The e-mails that are allegedly unsolicited are not, in fact, unsolicited,” a lawyer for Dutch-born money maven Heleen Mees, 44, said at her arraignment for allegedly stalking and harassing Citigroup chief economist and fellow countryman Willem Buiter, according to a transcript.

“The e-mails go in both directions,” Mees’ court-appointed lawyer, Vaneskha Hyacinthe, said at her client’s arraignment Tuesday in Manhattan Criminal Court.
