State $lings mud
ALBANY — The state Department of Environmental Conservation is seeking a $2.6 million fine against New York City for dumping more than 40 billion gallons of muddy water into a Catskills creek last year.
The city’s Department of Environmental Protection says it is reviewing the legal action and doesn’t believe it has violated any laws.
