A liberal female state legislator says Mamadou Diallo should get a medal for bludgeoning his wife’s would-be rapist to death with a tire iron.

“This man should be released, all charges dropped, and the mayor should give him the keys to the City,” Sen. Diane Savino (D-SI/Brooklyn) wrote on Facebook, linking to a Post front page last week about the Bronx cabby who killed career criminal Earl Nash.

Of the more than 40 people who posted comments, nearly all praised Savino for supporting Diallo, who faces assault and weapons charges.

Savino’s reps did not return messages, but Mayor de Blasio has no plans to give Diallo a key to the city.

“Our country’s judicial system makes these determinations,” mayoral spokesperson Monica Klein said. “We need to allow the investigation to be completed and the appropriate authorities to determine the next steps.”
