The state Senate will hold hearings examining the state’s pardon policies after Gov. Cuomo signed an executive order restoring voting rights to more than 24,000 parolees.

Republicans and police unions have been fiercely critical of the decision.

Triple cop killer Herman Bell was among those covered by the order.

“I am troubled by the seeming automatic release of cop killers, sex offenders and violent felons who now have had their rights restored through a questionable process,” said Sen. Pat Gallivan (R-Erie County), who chairs the Criminal Justice Committee.

The hearings will be held on Oct. 1 and 2 in Albany and on Long Island, which is a political battleground in the November election.
