A nearly half-century-old elephant that survived a napalm bombing during the Vietnam War wandered off from an upstate New York sanctuary — and stunned cops who saw her walking down the side of a road.
“Never a dull moment in Troop F,” wrote State Police officials on the NYSP Facebook page about the Dumbo-like incident in Westtown.
Troopers escorted the 44-year-old home with help from workers at the Sanctuary For Animals.
“She was burned by Napalm during the [Vietnam] war,” officials explained.
The Sanctuary For Animals has been in operation for several decades and his home to all kinds of wildlife — including camels, zebras and peacocks. They could not be reached for comment Monday.
