The city Department of Transportation will install cellphone-charging stations at Staten Island Ferry terminals after two riders got into a fistfight over an electrical outlet.

The USB ports will be installed at both the St. George and Whitehall terminals by the fall and will also be built into the next generation of ferryboats, Transportation officials said.

The move comes after the city quietly turned off electrical outlets on ferries to prevent arguments and fights. The decision was made in conjunction with the NYPD.
