Cops arrested a man who allegedly tried to rape a woman jogging on Staten Island on the Fourth of July.

Denis Hernandez approached the 39-year-old woman on Richmond Terrace in Livingston, covered her mouth, and attempted to drag her into a secluded wooded area at around 9:05 a.m., police said.

But the woman broke free and flagged down officers, who canvassed the area and found Hernandez nearby, cops said.

Hernandez, 39, was charged with attempted rape, assault, kidnapping and unlawful imprisonment, police said.
