A Staten Island man was charged today after prosecutors accused him of being the drunk driver responsible for a fatal car crash that took place last August, resulting in the death of two men, authorities said.

Nicholas Marchese, 21, surrendered to police at 8:30 a.m. at the 120th Precinct station house and was later arraigned on a 26-count indictment that accused him of being the driver of the car that slammed into a pole last Aug. 29.

Two men, Daniel Peluso, 19, and Jeffrey Capretta, 20, both of Staten Island, were killed in the crash at Arthur Kill and Annadale roads.
