State’s $57M medi-loss
ALBANY — The state blew nearly $33 million on bogus Medicaid expenses over five years mostly because it issued multiple identification numbers to recipients, audits by state Comptroller Tom DiNapoli have found.
Another audit alleged $24 million in missed savings by failing to maximize rebates for prescription drugs. The Health Department says it is fixing the problems.
