New York voters were on their way to approving three propositions that appeared on ballots across the state, including a measure to take redistricting out of the hands of lawmakers.
Proposition 1 asked voters to instead establish a commission to redraw legislative and congressional district lines, as required by the federal government to account for population changes every 10 years.
Supporters included Gov. Cuomo. Mayor de Blasio voted against it.
A constitutional amendment to remove a requirement to print bills before lawmakers vote on them was also on its way to being approved. The legislation could be distributed in electronic form instead.
The third measure authorizes the state to borrow $2 billion to upgrade technology in public schools.
