The teens who happened upon the corpse of murdered New Jersey woman Stephanie Parze were “shocked” by their grisly discovery, they said in a new interview.

Jimmy Carlos Perez, 18, and Eric Rodriguez, 17, employees of the Grand Marquis catering hall in Old Bridge, were walking south on Route 9 Sunday afternoon — on their way to work — when they spotted something that appeared to be a mannequin about six feet from the guardrail, they told the Asbury Park Press.

“Oh my God, that is an actual body,” Perez said he thought.

The body, which was “really close” to the edge of the road, was face-down and only visible to pedestrians, not drivers, the teen said.

“We were shocked,” Rodriguez added. “You don’t see stuff like this all the time.”

Perez said he called the police, who arrived within minutes. Police quickly suspected that the body was that of 25-year-old Parze, who had been missing for nearly three months.

A Monday morning autopsy confirmed their suspicions.

“I was even more shocked,” Rodriguez told the paper of his reaction when he learned whose body it was. “I’m glad her family got answers. I’m really sorry they had to go through this.”

Prosecutors revealed Monday that John Ozbilgen, 29, Parze’s on-again, off-again boyfriend — long considered a person of interest in the case — was responsible for her slaying.

Ozbilgen took his own life in November, and confessed to the slaying in a suicide note to his parents, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni said.

The note did not mention where he disposed of Parze’s remains.

Parze’s distraught dad, Edward Parze, expressed his gratitude for the teens who made the discovery.

“Two angels found her,” he said Monday. “These two angels were put there for a purpose. That’s how we feel.”

Perez told the paper he is still in shock, but glad he and his colleague were in the right place at the right time.

“I’m happy to provide an answer to the family,” he said.
