The body recovered in a wooded New Jersey area over the weekend is that of missing woman Stephanie Parze, investigators confirmed Monday morning.

“It is with great sadness we announce that Stephanie Parze’s remains were recovered yesterday in Old Bridge,” the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office posted to Facebook. “The Middlesex County ME confirmed her identity this morning.”

Authorities discovered Parze’s remains off Route 9, just south of Old Mill Road in Old Bridge, at 2:46 p.m. Sunday, prosecutors said.

Volunteers had previously searched that area for Parze, according to reports. Authorities had also searched in Staten Island.

Law enforcement sources told NBC New York that the remains were “fairly decomposed.”

Parze vanished from her Freehold, New Jersey, home Oct. 30 after a girls’ night out with her mom and sister to see medium Cindy Kaza’s show in New Brunswick.

Her parents, Edward and Sharlene Parze, later found her car in the driveway and her cellphone stuffed in the couch.

Less than a month later, her ex-boyfriend, John Ozbilgen — a stockbroker who was under investigation by authorities — hanged himself in his parents’ garage.

An ex told the Asbury Park Press in December that Ozbilgen had choked her several times during sex, and she believed he had done the same to Parze.

Earlier this month, Parze’s mom said Ozbilgen slept over the night before her daughter’s disappearance and may have seen her before she vanished, 911 audio reveals.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said it would hold a press conference later Monday.

“We also want to thank the public for your remarkable efforts in trying to find Stephanie for the past few months,” the statement said. “May God bless Stephanie and her family during this terribly difficult time.”
