ALBANY — Gov. Paterson says New York will be able to do more road and bridge projects using federal stimulus money than first planned.

He says competition during the recession has driven down bid prices for previously announced projects by about 15 percent. New York’s share of the federal economic stimulus package for highways was about $1.1 billion. About $469 million has been put out to bid for infrastructure projects.
