A student at Stony Brook University plummeted from a dorm window to his death on the college quad in an apparent suicide Tuesday afternoon, Suffolk County and school police said.

The undergraduate was not immediately identified.

He was rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:50 p.m., two hours after his plunge, police told Newsday.

The quad is ringed by four dorm buildings.
