A stranger stabbed a 41-year-old “loving and dedicated father” to death in broad-daylight during a fight over a seat on an MTA shuttle bus, cops and sources said.
Alvin Francis was riding a shuttle bus along the J train route just before 2 p.m. Sunday at Crescent and Etna Streets in Cypress Hills in Brooklyn when a feud erupted between him and a backpack-wearing passenger over seating, cops and sources said.

The two men were clashing over a seat on the bus, sources said. ABC 7The enraged rider then knifed Francis in the stomach, police and sources said.
The victim was rushed to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries, cops said.
He lived several miles from where he was stabbed, in Jamaica, Queens, authorities said.
The unhinged attacker — who was still at large Monday — was last seen wearing a gray sweat suit, police said.
No arrests had been made by Monday afternoon. ABC 7In a family statement, Francis’ relatives said they are “heartbroken over the tragic and senseless loss of Alvin Francis, a loving and dedicated father, husband, brother, son, uncle, cousin, and friend who was taken from us far too soon.” “At this moment, our family is asking for privacy and space as we grieve,” the family said. “We will not be providing any additional comments at this time. We are placing our full trust in law enforcement as they continue their investigation, and we remain hopeful that justice will be served.”
