A stranger shoved an elderly man to the ground before pummeling him in a deranged burst of violence on the Upper East Side last week, police said.

The brute approached the 75-year-old man in front of a grocery store on York Avenue near East 83rd Street around 5:20 p.m. Friday and started arguing with him, authorities said. 

As tensions flared, the maniac allegedly pushed the victim to the ground, the NYPD said.

He then repeatedly punched and kicked the senior before running off on foot, heading south on York Avenue, according to cops. 

The attack left the victim with minor injuries, but he was not hospitalized.

It was not immediately clear what the fight was over.

Video shows the suspect walking in the store wearing a gray hat, a pair of shades, a blue jacket and black pants.
