Students upset over proposed tuition increases are protesting ahead of a meeting of the City University of New York’s Board of Trustees.
Students United for a Free CUNY held a Manhattan demonstration on Monday afternoon.
Dozens of demonstrators gathered at Madison Square Park and planned to march over to Baruch College where the board is scheduled to meet. They chanted and held signs.
Baruch decided to reschedule afternoon classes and limit student access during the board meeting to avoid a repeat of a Nov. 21 incident. A CUNY official said students were congregating in the building lobby and refused to move when asked. Fifteen people were arrested.
