Subway cars will finally get surveillance cameras to catch underground creeps, the MTA announced Wednesday.

As part of its upcoming capital plan, the MTA will buy 940 new subway cars for its lettered lines and install cameras in them between 2015 and 2019.

The MTA is also considering adding them to 300 new cars recently purchased for the C and J lines.

“New York City Transit’s commitment to keeping its customers safe from improper sexual conduct is unwavering,” said MTA boss Thomas Prendergast in a letter to Public Advocate Letitia James, who has spoken out on sexual assaults underground.

Subway cars do not have cameras, but the MTA tested out the idea in a pilot project in the E line in 2010.

Subway maps will also be revised to show where NYPD transit stations are located.
