Police are hunting for two suspects accused of repeatedly stabbing and slashing a straphanger during a skirmish at the Union Square subway station over the weekend.
The NYPD released surveillance video and a screenshot showing at least one of the alleged attackers wanted in connection to the bloody incident near the L train platform at the 14th Street-Union Square Station around 1:45 a.m. Sunday.
The victim, a 28-year-old man, got into a fight with two strangers who stabbed and slashed him multiple times all over his body with a “cutting instrument,” according to the police.
The attackers then boarded a Brooklyn-bound L train and fled.
The victim managed to make his way up the subway stairs to call for help, after which he was brought to NYC Health and Hospitals/ Bellevue in stable condition.

Transit crime in New York City has spiked more than 13% during the week of June 19-25, compared to the same time period a year ago, but overall crime in the subway system was down more than 5% since the beginning of 2023, according to the latest numbers released by the NYPD.
