Two people were slashed on the subways in separate attacks overnight as violence continued to plague the Big Apple transit system, authorities said.
In the latest attack, a 48-year-old man was slashed in the neck during an argument with another person on the northbound C train platform at West 50th Street and Eighth Avenue in Manhattan around 1:21 a.m. Monday, the NYPD said.

He was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition, police said.

The suspects hands were covered in blood as police made the arrest. Robert MeceaPhotos showed police arresting a suspect — who had blood splashed over his sneakers — near 59th Street and Columbus Circle.
He was identified as Orsen Reyes, 23, of Washington Heights, and charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, cops said, noting that this appeared to be his first arrest.
In a separate burst of violence about six hours earlier, a 52-year-old man was knifed on the arm inside the Myrtle-Wyckoff L train station at the border of Brooklyn and Queens, cops said.
The commuter was attacked around 7:20 p.m. Sunday on the staircase near the lower mezzanine area of the station, authorities said.

The attacker fled and had not been caught Monday. The motive for that slashing is unclear, but it doesn’t appear the two argued beforehand, cops said.
The violence came hours after the Guardian Angels announced they would return to patrolling Big Apple subway cars in the wake of the horrific murder of a woman who was set on fire while asleep on a Coney Island train last week.
As of Sunday, 573 felony assaults have been reported in the city’s transit system this year — nearly even with the 572 investigated by the NYPD during the same period in 2023, the latest police data shows.
