A subway train derailment that left three straphangers with minor injuries in Brooklyn is causing service disruptions on Friday morning, officials said.
The front two wheels of the southbound G train left the tracks at 10:16 p.m. Thursday just south of the Hoyt-Schermerhorn Station. Dozens of riders were evacuated and service was suspended in both directions between Bergen Street and Bedford-Nostrand avenues.
Fire officials said two adults and a child were taken to a hospital with minor injuries, The AP reported.
The caused of the mishap was not available.
The derailment caused the following service changes, according to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority:
There is no G train service between Fulton Street and Church Avenue in both directions. The F train should be used instead.
There is limited G train service between Bedford-Nostrand avenues and Court Square in both directions.
Some A trains are running local between Utica Avenue and Hoyt-Schermerhorn in both directions.
Free transfers are available between Broadway on the G line and Lorimer on the J, M and Z lines.
Free transfers are available between Fulton Street on the G line and Lafayette Avenue on the C line.
As an alternative for G service, customers can use the northbound B38 bus on Lafayette Avenue or the southbound B38 bus on DeKalb Avenue.
Heavy crowding and delays are expected Friday morning.
