A suicidal man apparently had a change of heart after jumping on the tracks in front of an oncoming subway train in Midtown today — laying down at the last minute in the trough between the tracks so he wouldn’t get killed, authorities said.

The jumper got to safety in the nick of time as an uptown N train approached the 34th Street station at noon, sources said.

An MTA worker said that the man was uninjured but covered in dirt.

The victim was taken to Bellevue hospital, said a spokesman for the Fire Department.
