A Manhattan construction company left a holy mess behind in a historic Brooklyn church building — gutting the structure instead of renovating it, according to a lawsuit.

The renovations of St. Charles Borromeo Church, built in 1849, kicked off in June 2011 and the work was off track “almost immediately,” the church charges in the Brooklyn Supreme Court lawsuit.

DP Consulting paid no heed to deadlines and was accused of “practically gutt[ing] the structure,” the church alleges.

The church, which claims it will cost $800,000 to fix the errant work, had to hire a new contractor.

DP Consulting did not return a call for comment.
