NYPD detectives investigating an imam’s killing still don’t have a motive, in part because the suspect’s phone is broken, a police official said Tuesday.

“We’re still developing leads on that,” Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said. “We had a hard time with his [Oscar Morel’s] phone. It was broken. It’s an Android knockoff. Kind of tough getting into that.”

Police have charged Morel, 35, with gunning down Alauddin Akonjee, 55, and his friend, Thara Miah, 64, in Queens on Aug. 13.

Morel was taken into custody three days later after police connected him to a hit-and-run crash that occurred shortly after the shooting about a mile away.

The murder weapon was found hidden in a wall in Morel’s home, sources said.
