It’s an online Hail Mary.

A Brooklyn Craigslist user who claims to know nothing about football posted a desperate pre-Super Bowl plea for someone to coach him on the basics in a bid to save face and impress his girlfriend.

“I desperately need to learn about football between now and next week’s Super Bowl game,” the post read.

“My girlfriend and I were just invited to a Super Bowl party at her ex-boyfriend’s apartment, and to be honest, last time I met him he told me he played football in college, and I responded that I did as well — which was a lie.”

The oddball posting offered $500 to whoever would be able to explain to him the difference between a linebacker and a quarterback.

“This is really important to me,” the post’s writer explained.

“I think my girlfriend still really likes her ex . . . So, I really can’t risk looking like an idiot in front of both of them.

“My girlfriend and I are going through a bit of a rough patch now, and she keeps threatening to move out,” the pathetic plea continued.

“I’m afraid if I get caught lying about this, our relationship is over.”

The post went viral in the blogosphere, but was pulled down from Craigslist yesterday.
